We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Cost and Budget Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing cost analysis, budgeting processes, and financial planning activities. This role plays a critical part in guiding business decisions by preparing accurate cost reports, analyzing variances, and ensuring budgetary control across departments.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the budget and cost accounting records, documents, and records of the organization in conformance with legal requirements & accepted accounting principles and standards;
- Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs;
- Monitoring unit cost variance and implementing cost standards for materials and labour;
- Conduct cost-budget analysis and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs;
- Manage and comply with tax filings and government reporting requirements;
- Provide management with reports that specify and compare factors that affect the prices and profitability of products or services;
- Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies and perform life cycle cost-benefit analysis;
- Collect cost information and maintain an expenses database to recommend costs and savings;
- Prepare and complete internal cost audits and construct data accumulation systems;
- Determine fixed costs (e.g., salaries, rent and insurance) and record variable costs (e.g., purchases of raw material and operations costs);
- Reconciling beginning raw materials, work-in-progress and finished-goods stock;
- Conduct physical inventories and monitor the cycle count program;
- Prepare and analyze report profit margins and budgeting reports;
- Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual budget and cost statements;
- Identify and recommend cost-effective solutions;
Skills & Abilities
- Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures;
- In-depth understanding of IFRS;
- Experience with accounting software and MS Office;
- Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail;
- Strong time management and organizational skills;
- Integrity, with an ability to handle confidential information;
Academic Qualification
- BA Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, preferably in the manufacturing sector
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in the manufacturing/Import-Export sector.
